Rock DDR hajime!

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I just started playing Rock DDR again yesterday. The first time I played was back in very early June at Abby’s pad because I couldn’t get her pad to work w/ the adapter she had when I was visiting and ended up playing Rock DDR which is using the Rock Band drums on Stepmania. It’s a pretty awesome setup, and it was easy to tell I was addicted when I was at Abby’s. You literally had to pry me away to get me to stop, and I’d always be like “ok, just one more song” “no, lemme play ONE more”, lol. I guess part of that was bc I felt so freakin’ awesomely cool that I could play up to 12 footers on the drums. Too bad I’m not better than I am on pad yet, but still, that’s pretty darn awesome and should strengthen my arms. I was also using to improve at Rock Band so that one day I might best her at it in the same way I was going to w/ Ouendan.

Resident Evil, something I cannot forgive

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Here is depicted the similarities between Resident Evil 4 and 5. I don’t know if it’s good or bad. I mean, it’s the same game. If you go even further back in time to older RE games, you’ll notice the same trend. So what is there to do?

This post might also be well to talk about a few things I recall of my previous relationship with my lover: Ouendan. I cannot ever finish this game. I highly doubt it will ever come, but it reminds me of a time where I fought with her to be better than she was so that I would not only beat the game, but feel as if I was at her level. She is the only one I have seen at such a level. YouTube isn’t physical, it isn’t real even though it is. To see her, and have her nearby me, it was quite a feat. She was what pushed me to become better and her very presence also made me think clearer.

Kyou Kara Maou R! completed

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Finished this yesterday as well. When watching Kyou Kara Maou: Third Season, this seems to not be part of the continuous storyline because they don’t notice Shin-Oh is back, but then they seem to remember the pink bearbees for some reason. WTF! It’s like, either reference ALL of R! or none at all. If they referenced none of it kinda like how Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori didn’t ever reference back to the characters in the first series, it’s not really that big of a deal, just a letdown. I mean, it’s more of a letdown to have to figure out which parts from R! are in the third season and which aren’t by yourself. Really sucks.

One of the things about R! was the episodes ended hard. It was like they were so contrained for time, they didn’t give time for the ending to sit in your mind and BOOM!, closer. And then the first episode I remembered having some kind of cliffhanger. Well they finished it off in the very last episode. I guess that kinda kept everything together, but it was like, the first episode ends, you get three eps, and then the final one comes up referencing back to the first, but it seems as if the previous three episodes also happened in the meantime. That’s cool and all, but it is just strange to have to piece everything together like that too!

Kaleido Star ~ Legend of Phoenix Layla Hamilton Monogatari ~

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I forgot to post about this, but I watched it yesterday and some the day before that. I kept getting really emotional while watching it, and I have NO CLUE why. I think the music maybe? Maybe some kind of connection I had with it? I dunno. I never saw the actual series and this is the second of three movies that followed the series, so I actually came in during a really strange time. I had to figure out the ENTIRE storyline up until that movie so it was quite the feat to be had.

I guess I realized early on that it seemed like the movie had a series attached to it. No bother though. I enjoyed it. It was only about 50 minutes along and kinda told me something about going back to how you were and being reborn as the pheonix which is something I did recently. Like, after you’ve learned and had life experiences, you can finally be reborn and find your pheonix. That kinda thing.

I liked how, even if you hadn’t seen the series or previous movie, this movie could set you up right into it, and you’d be able to figure out quite a bit of the storyline up so far. I guess that’s what made it most enjoyable for me.

Mononoke completed

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Finished another anime. I really enjoyed the ending of this one. The art style is quite amazing as I said before in my first post about it and after the first story-line is completed, the anime really starts to shine. I just was turned off after the first one, but as you see more and more, a total of five, then you really start to like the thing in its entirety. It has a certain charm to it by the end which you start to just get more involved and gain a better understanding for.

It’s not wise to shove off this anime because of the first episode; there’s much more hidden underneath. I thought it was neat how some Mononoke actually try to best him as if they think they’re better. It was nice how it ended though. It’s sort hard to never give people another chance and just not let them learn from their mistakes. I like how this anime didn’t do that.

Found the last memory

Monday, July 28th, 2008

I think the last memory of my girlfriend is gone. I put it away in the DDR Club Archives where I have memories since the start of the club to when I left and various memorabilia from all of the trips up till now. One such memory is a piece of papar from Family Fun Center with a webaddress written on it, the very same webaddress that was the reason I had a girlfriend. Yes, it was the link to her father’s website where I would later have to do a whois search to get a hold of his e-mail address. It’s good I’m to the point that I can go so far back to the beginnings without problems. That paper is probably the most cherishable memory I ever could have from her because it is the only material item I ever received, and it just happens to be the one I got when I first met her.

Well that’s all done and over with. Last night I told this to Nick when I went to IHOP, but I am finally over Abby. I’m not in defeat of my feelings for her though. I doubt those will ever go away until I love another just as much as to date them, but it’s nice to know I’m remembering all of the great amazing memories I had an all the good times. It’s a shame it all had to end like it did, but she forced it upon me, and I have no argument. Such is her choice and such is my choice. I can feel different but I had to make the choice to get away as well.

Bleach Movie

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

I dunno which one I got a hold of watching because there’s something like seven of them, but I can see where the anime is going now. I hope I get to a point in the anime where I can stop and then the movie would be the finisher for me so I don’t have to get involved in a series that I can’t commit to with over 100 episodes out now.

Friends but not Lovers

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

After looking at Nick’s pictures of when he went to Disney World w/ Paty and her family, I figured something out finally. This really really hurts me, but I think I might not have had anything to do with this at all. My ex-girlfriend didn’t love me as a lover, she only loved me as a friend, but valued the benefits.

Sure it looked all hunky dory like we were going out and such, but every time I wanted to do something as lovers, either someone around her got angry with me or she was just reticent to refuse my offer and even scolded me for it saying I was being selfish. Her boyfriend, me, she would refuse! I think I’ve got it now. So all of that, no matter how much we loved each other, it was as if I wanted more, and could not get it out of her. I don’t know if she ever will or ever had recovered from her previous relationships, but I see now what she meant about the problems being too much for us to stay together. She just didn’t know what it meant to be in a relationship. Truly, she wasn’t ready.

Stupidity

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

I’m so darn stupid sometimes. I can predict anime like crazy, but I can’t predict my life in the same way, at least not anymore. Man, I do stupid things sometimes though. REALLY stupid things. Maybe unforgivable, maybe not, who knows! I sure don’t. When I do something stupid and don’t even know its stupid, maybe that’s unforgivable. I mean, if you know me well enough, it’s expected. You shouldn’t get to know me not knowing that. It’s something I tell people when I start getting involved with them as friends.

NANA not for girls

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Again I’m going to state that it’s not for girls. Serioulsy, every heartwarming moment is totally NOT such. They leave it quickly w/ a joke and move on. It’s just how it works out. There’s no way that you can call it a chick-flick if it’s gonna be like that right? On the other hand, I’d like to say that I have a ton more NANA episodes now finally, and I’ve been watching up on the rest of it. It’s extremely long for what I’m used to so who knows how long it’ll be till I finish it.

The Past: Revisited

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I dunno how much I stand by it. I know I’m a person that really doesn’t say much stuff lovingly and am always just trying to be 100% honest, but I dunno how much I should do that anymore. I saw a blog post I wrote a long time ago and think it is a bit harsh to the reality.

Fate/stay night

Friday, July 25th, 2008

While the formatting of the title troubles me, the anime was great. The first half was a separate entity from the latter. It had some neat things where you were wondering who someone was the entire time, then you figure it out much later. That was cool.

Then there’s the sad parts. It just wasn’t all fun and games for me. By the time the final episode is half way over, you think the entire thing is over, but it keeps going on, it drags you on. There weren’t any tears before, not really much need for them, but even at the end, they don’t let tears fall, they keep you in to wonder why it is still going. It’s a bit troublesome.

Princess Mononoke

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I finally saw this 1997 classic. Great screenplay, great cinematics, and great voice acting. Even though it was an anime in English, I really enjoyed it. It also let me spend a crapload of time working on the blog’s new theme rather than reading subtitles. So in the end, it was really neat. The music reminds me of Pocahontasmusic. I’ve never seen Pocahontas, but I know the story is similar to this. Awesome stuff. I think Disney helped bring it to the US, and you can tell they did a great job with it, but it really feels like something Disney made if Disney were a Japanese company. Truly a work of art. In Japan, it’s called Mononoke-Hime.

I’m currently watching another anime called Mononoke. It’s completely different from this, but it was nice to have the contrast. It’s tough seeing something like Mononoke episode after episode, but the music and the feeling and script and just about everything of this movie really got my spirits up. I’m glad I gave it a chance even though I couldn’t find the subtitles for it anyway.

New blog theme

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Working on a new theme for my blog so I don’t have to keep w/ the WordPress default. It should have more colors and be easier to navigate when I’m done. Hopefully this works! Wish me well.

FREEDOM & FREEDOM SEVEN completed

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

FREEDOM was something I started a while back. I was able to watch the prologue and episode 1, but that was all I could get my hands on. I wasn’t too fond of the anime nor did I like the art/3D style of it, but since I watched the entirely of it, it was really moving. FREEDOM SEVEN I had to watch on Veoh. There is not one translation made of it, and it’s in two parts, but I got teary eyed in a part nonetheless. No actual tears though mind you! Even though FREEDOM SEVEN was only in Japanese, I understood 80% of what was going on, and maybe even more because I was looking at the website and saw pictures of other things that basically helped describe what was going on for me.

I was able to predict just about everything though. The coolest thing I predicted was one of the guys turning face. I don’t wanna ruin it for anyone, but I so called that! Well either way, it not only ended awesomely, the music, the approach, just everything about it was quite amazing. I was, to put it literally, struck w/ awe. The coolest part is that the website calls itself Freedom Project, and it just really feels like your there part of this project called Freedom, and you’re trying to unite the worlds of the moon and the earth. Just astounding in production value. This one is highly recommended. In total, it would add up to eight point five full episodes.
