Eight gigs of RAM

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

I forgot to write it here, but I now have eight gigs of RAM. Whereas it was only a year ago I had only one gig. I can’t believe how long I survived. I should’ve upgraded to Vista 64 sooner and now that I have, it’ll be a pain going back to XP every time I have to set it up for someone.

I’m even considering moving Soyver and Lollipop over as well either when the OS becomes bogged down or when I get that other 2GB of memory since I’m gonna figure out if I’m gonna just upgrade Soyver to 4GB and keep Lollipop at 2GB or have it be 3GB and 3GB for each. I’m all for equality, but it’s rare I ever use Lollipop, even then, I dunno if that’ll compromise my memory bandwidth if I have two 1GB sticks and a 512MB pair in each. Stupid Intel and their memory controller not being integrated on the CPU like AMD.

Winter has come early

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Someone tell me why it’s already started snowing! It’s still not snow-time weather, but I guess no one told that to Gaia right? Way too early for snow I say. I didn’t even consider how sucky it’ll be going to work from now on. Great…

How to Win Friends Influence People

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I got a hold of the book How to Win Friends Influence People by Dale Carnegie from audible.com with my free credit to a book. I know a lot of this stuff, I’ve learned a ton of stuff from this book over the years in my research on how to be a good leader when I was working with the club.

I really need to get my dad to hear this because he seriously does a lot of stuff wrong. just yesterday I was pulling out a plate from the cupboard and somehow, I managed to knock a small ceramic browl on it, and it began to fall.

The Speakers of Death

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Now I can’t listen using anything else that I own those speakers. I think I need to buy another pair for the theater system. This is bogus… I was showing Nick the speakers last night and just… I couldn’t bear to hear the old ones anymore. So that’s a total load of crap.

And now Nick and Mark have each heard them. Mark truly heard them for their goodness. Nick wasn’t around too long to really hear a difference, but Mark and I could. It doesn’t just depend on the speakers, but the song too.

I can’t wait till dad helps me put the foam back on the subs. That’ll totally fix up everything! I mean, there’s bass, that’s there, but it’s not the kinda bass I want. I need that really deep bass that I could that big ol’ sub can put out. I really wanna get that 12″ Dalton sub too :P . That think could break windows in a small enough room! And it’s accurate to boot.

Wow I’m stupid

Monday, November 17th, 2008

At work, I did something really really stupid. Not that it caused a fuss, but I was complaining about how GRID, the IS people here, were asking me to take these four PCs down to their office at the other side of the Cerner main campus an,d I was complaining about having to carry four PCs in my hands while walking all the way down. This has been going on for two weeks. I didn’t even realize I could just dolly them to my car. Yeah… I’m stupid. Now the request doesn’t seem like such a big deal at all.

Returning to Childhood

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

I’m bringing my own lunch to sch– Oh man. I’m bringing a lunch bag to work now because I can’t afford to pay to eat at the cafeteria everyday. I can’t really remember when I stopped, but I do know that mom would look at the A and B lunch schedule and make lunches for me the days I didn’t wanna eat the school’s food.

Fast forward to today. So it’s been 8-10 years now since I can really remember bringing lunches to school. Now I’m bringing them to work with me. This is just really strange. The need for a lunch box/bag and having to remember to get it and bring it home. Just one more thing to remember and one more thing to forget.

I feel like Big

Monday, November 10th, 2008

If you’d seen the movie Big, you’d know what I’m talking about almost immediately. I’m like that kid except that I really am 22. But the hole dressing up for work, working for a big corporation. The holy experience w/ women. I mean, a lot of it is familiar I’d say, but not so much since I’m obviously not in my 30s.

Then if you even look at the kid’s apartment. Look at all the neat and fun stuff he’s got in there. It’s like me now, lol. I’m still as young as can be. I’m sure anyone who knows me and read this would agree so I’m up for hearing comments.

Vista’s Birthday

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Celebration called for? I dunno, I really have no opinion.

Now I’m okay being a nerd. Finally!

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Now this is something I’ll admit to. It feels very accurate of me. I’m glad they separated out the Dork category from it. I think I’m good now. After more than a year of telling people I wasn’t a nerd, I can now finally say I am. Still, I won’t go around flaunting it or anything. Not like it means anything to me and not like it’s something I feel like I should tell people.

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test by donathos …

Pure Nerd

65 % Nerd, 22% Geek, 9% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the “dork.” No-longer. Being smart isn’t as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.

Congratulations!

Midlife Crisis

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I think I’m having a Midlife Crisis maybe? I dunno. I’m having a strange thing where I’m looking back at my life and myself now and being extremely confused. I seem to be making some of the strangest decisions I’ve ever made in my life. I started this back when I was 21, so now that I’m 22, I think it worsened. I realized I’m aging, and then I realized I’m still like a 10 year old. What now? Ugh… Too much to think about.

The fate of the entire world rests in our hands

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

This election could change the fate of the world. WWIII? Who knows. But the world is watching America. This election needs each and every person who can vote to do so. All Americans need to get up and vote in this election. If you truly don’t care, don’t vote, but the world rests in your hands. Each and every vote counts. That’s why people will pay big money for them.

This has to be one of the most critical elections in US history because of how much it will affect the world around us. Let’s hope everyone at least votes and votes for whoever they want. At least then, if people think we’re bad, they can say how much of the country caused WWIII or how much of the country caused America to fall. You can even say who caused the country to prosper or who caused the entire world to rev up again economically. I’m being impartial here. As Americans, we are a unit. We are all Americans. So while you might think differently, if you’re not doing your part by voting, you’re still one of those Americans and by not voting, you might literally have no right to complain.

Wow,
