That was some not ice storm today

Monday, March 30th, 2009

According to the pics from yesterday, you would’ve thought today would’ve been similar, but this area is commonly full of surprises. I did try to make the pictures similar to those I took yesterday even though I was using completely different lenses today because of the sunlight. Take a look at this morsel of inconceivability.

That was some ice storm yesterday

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Yesterday, an ice storm hit. Already a few inches had been laid out in the hour I was upstairs. I feel asleep yesterday at around 3pm and woke up at 12am this morning. Little did I know what happened. I went down and didn’t see much. Just saw that I couldn’t check the mail because I couldnt’ see my car anymore.

I gave it until it became light out there and went out for a photo session but didn’t really have much time or room to mess with lenses so I did the best I could. Here are the best out of the lot of them. Notice how my car up and disappeared.

Someone I can connect with [Update]

Friday, March 20th, 2009

While this entire show is supposed to make fun of certain things, I have to say that as pathetic as it looks, this is how it is for me.

Watch the second half of this PurePwnage episode, and you’ll see what I mean. If a girl’s locked down to a guy, my opinion of the situation is that she’s… locked down to the guy, ha ha ha. I mean, this is only if both partners agree on exclusivity. There should be rules put down ahead of time before a relationship is formed which goes over stuff like this.

I did it I did it! Two games down [Update]

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

I’m about 8 hours late on this post. Forgot to hit “Publish”…

Finally beat two games I’d been meaning to for months but work combined with poor drivers from ATi and some sort of Windows Audio service issue because of some driver conflict with the Creative X-Fi (thanks Creative… You suck) and ASUS Xonar D2X stopped me from even being able to play games much at all.

I just finished Mass Effect and am letting the credits roll. NOW I’m excited for the sequel, kinda. Seems like it’ll be pretty boring much as Mass Effect became not more than 4 hours in. Half-Life 2: Episode One was the other game I finished. That was a lot more fun but very linear as is Valve’s style where they hold your hand throughout the game and very vague storyline. Thing about Half-Life 2 though is that it’s fun. It’s never gotten old to watch those amazing Havok ragdoll physics and use all the guns in the game in various ways. I think this is why I’ve been so kept in Valve’s camp this entire time; they just make fun games.

I know I still have a crapload more to beat, but hopefully when the new video drivers are released, I can finish up some other ones like Crysis Warhead and Assassin’s Creed which are crashtacular at the moment. I’ll be so happy to start finishing up games again. this is awesome!

[Update]

Apparently Crysis Warhead had an issue because of a bug in the software which ONLY happens if you save during this one stage. It was because of a patch in February, and get this, the ONE place I chose to save happened to the be the one place that bugs up the game. Great…

Who’s that face?

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

My father of age 21 or earlier. Hello 70s!

No, it’s not me, it’s my father back when he still lived in Iran which means he must’ve been 21 or younger if memory serves me right. That means right now I’m older than my dad in this picture. Crazy philosophical debate BEGIN!

Quotes from a year old e-mail

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

It was one year ago from yesterday something very special and unexpected happened. I forgot to post about it because I napped my afternoon away and had forgotten. I want to give up a few pics here to describe my look before and during that day: March 17, 2008.

Before Haircut

During Haircut

After Haircut

I love reminiscing on the old times. It’s far easier to do when I’m at a point in my life far above them, but it’s okay since it’s not hurtful anymore and rightfully so considering it wasn’t more than a few days ago I cleared all of this up. Most don’t know it, but I had an extremely hard time after I was told it wouldn’t work out w/ Abby sometime in early March of ’08, but then was I in a bind when I’d found out she was fond of me in ways more than that of a friend.

First time making pancakes

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Today I totally made pancakes for the very first time in my life. I’ve made eggs and french toast, but my pancakes are really something, something horrible. I ate them all, but my sister refused with a big “eeeeew”. I took some pictures on my phone for you guys to check out. I was a poor first try, but I figured out my issue. Find the pictures of this horror show after the break.

The trauma is gone

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Far be it from me to decide if the trauma’s really all gone, but my life changed so much this morning. My ex girlfriend’s name is Abby. Up until now, I couldn’t think or speak that name and anything associated with her. It was not only the trauma caused in how the breakup occured, but also trauma from a few people I’d known in my collegiate past surfacing after having been suppressed so long by having dated her.

In the time since our breakup, I did a lot of thinking, met quite a few people, and learned a lot about myself and what exactly did happen in that relationship nearing to the end. As I was working in a large corporate environment for 5 months with a 24/7 crew of people, I really got to see different sides of the white-collar life. The other people I met online through OkCupid. I know it sounds weird to have met people from that way, but that’s just how it happened. I needed to find some kind of community per the advise of everyone and that seemed to be the healthiest one for me contrary to its known uses.

Spiders eew!

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

Being arachnophobiac, I was pleasantly surprised to find out I didn’t freak out when I found a dead spider on my sleeve and didn’t freak out in the slightest. I mean, I saw it there while I was washing my hands and couldn’t do a thing about it because of the soap and water, but I was patient and took it off w/ some toilet paper, no biggy.

That’s telling me I really don’t care about anything anymore. Forget the fact that I don’t worry about anything, I really don’t seem to care anymore, ha ha ha. I think it’s actually healthy I freak out about spiders because it means I’ve still got that little big of humanity left in me. And it’s not like I’m not still scared, but that was pretty odd it didn’t affect me at all.

DDR Pad boxes

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

As anyone who reads this blog should know, I was well into the DDR scene on and off for 3 years and really into it for the last 3 years. It was October 2002 when I first got a pair of pads and the Hawaiian DDR game for PC.

Now I’ve just looking around and need to move these boxes outta here for space reasons. It’s not crucial at all, I just wanna do some cleaning and cleaning means getting rid things that have no use. And in this case, the nostalgia from a bunch of DDR pad boxes is kind of unruley to areas dedicated to space. I took this opportunity to take a picture of what’s left of my collection. 12 have already gone to the trash over the years because of traveling reasons or because they fell apart, but here’s the last 13. Enjoy!

Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto – Natsu no Sora completed

Friday, March 6th, 2009

More laid back than Mushishi, this anime caught my attention because of the backgrounds. It was all done in real pictures modified and mixed with animation. I could tell they did a lot of things for budget reasons, but they had such believable characters.

It was more like watching real life in motion than watching a show or anime where things are staged and dramatic. This one was incredibly mellow and kinda boring at parts but worth my time. I did do a lot of staring at the backgrounds because they were really well done.

Probably the one most surprising thing for me happened today as I watched the last three episodes. I ended up crying. I just wasn’t expecting all of that. I saw what they did at the end. Quite a bit of suspense because they left it open to you to think about it. It’s just so sad.

Netbooks aren’t what you think

Friday, March 6th, 2009

They call it a netbook and tout it as a device which lets you surf the web and type up papers and do simple things on-the-go. No, these are something completely different, and I’ll tell you why all of those words are lies. The thing should be called an appbook or aphonewithaverylargescreenbook because that’s seriously where I’m at right now with this thing.

It’s too warm now?

Friday, March 6th, 2009

If this picture doesn’t give it away, I dunno what does. Too bad I found this only after all the events I talked about here:

from the Weather Channel

The worst part about this picture? Apart from Texas, the Kansas City area seems to be ruling the US in heat. Why is it so warm here? That’s how we roll. No seriously, we’re in between two biospheres, nearby Colorado, not close to any large body of water besides the Missouri River, and in the middle of North America; do the math.

Colissio down? Oh no!

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

As it occasionally happens, since so much is running on Colissio, when some problem occurs, it hits me pretty hard. I’ll be without a main rig for a few days well, I have a backup rig, and now two laptops to keep me company. Thing is, my backup rig has turned into an “I don’t ever use you anymore” machine because I have my laptop to be friends with.

I’ve been all laptop, all day and will be for a few of them. My backup rig I should rename to backup gaming rig, of which I now have four, ha ha ha.
