Finishing the Cube trilogy

Monday, June 29th, 2009

I don’t know if there’s any intent to make more of these movies, but they all seem to be extremely low-budget films with Cube Zero, the third movie, having the highest budget.

These psychological and frightening movies are really something people need to watch. The technology changes in both the companies and the movies themselves. It seems like the movies are designed in a way to fit the budget, not to convey the message. That’s a good thing though since the limits imposed on the filmmakers really help in moving the plot over the action and really leaving most of the story in our own minds rather than having them spoon fed.

I watched the first one in 2007 I believe. It shows up in my system as sometime, I think in October, of 2007 along with the other two movies which I didn’t watch until yesterday and today. They really grip you in and make you want to watch more. It seems like the movies are a lot shorter than they really are too, but this is the kind of awesomeness which is similar to the movie Primer. I think there would be two or three more movies in this series to finish it off, but I don’t see anything about a continuation which is really bothersome considering how much I liked these movies.

The mathematics of it all is also quite astounding as is the troublesome government and strange spending of tax dollars. I’m always saddened by the endings though and most of the movies have the same premise and same way of moving along the story that really makes each one seem very much like the others. I’ve noticed the movies seem to move along faster and faster because having seen the previous one(s) makes showing the same thing again in a new one less useful; thus, the creators leave that out and give you something else to watch while most of that stuff is happening. Still, judging by the monetary constraints, there probably won’t be anymore of these because there probably isn’t enough funding to accomplish making more with the props and people needed to produce another.

Finally updating the entire blog [Update]

Friday, June 5th, 2009

I am finally getting around to cleaning up this blog again. The last time I did this was when I converted from Xanga to WordPress. Reading some of my older posts, I’ve been appalled by the content and even more burned over my poor grammar and spelling. I’ve thought about this for a while, but I can hardly understand what I was saying in reading my older posts and even gotten frustrated looking at how badly the posts were written. In light of being my own editor, even if up to seven years has passed since I made some of these posts, I’m going back and changing things so they’re more readable whilst keeping the integrity of what I wrote and the personality therein.  All of my posts will have titles and nothing should ever be in the Uncategorized category again. Here’s to the beginning of something new.

[Update]

I’m also changing everything that says Xanga to blog because that’s what this is, a blog, not a Xanga. And I’m on WordPress now; saying Xanga is like typing T.V. with the periods.

Nodame Cantabile completed

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

The main character reminds me of me, such a jerk. He says things as they are, and he’s always right. I wouldn’t say I’m right, but he sure tells things as they are with a complete disregard to the feelings of others. This is a shortcoming of mine I’ve been working on for almost a year now. I just wrote a blog post about it a few days ago even.

Football again?

Monday, June 1st, 2009

I’ve been over this in an earlier post, but I just found my Arrowhead Fancard. As in, Arrowhead Stadium where the KC Chiefs play. WTF! I don’t remember this being so into sports. Oh, this must’ve been from the KC Wizards back when they were still good. Ha ha soccer. Man I’ve done some really normal-people stuff in my life.

Back when I read things

Monday, June 1st, 2009

I always wonder about the things I choose to read. Most of them I have no knowledge in yet I still read them. Take Garfield for example. Sure, it’s funny now, but back when I was a kid it really didn’t make sense at all but I bought more Garfield books than I can easily count. I dunno, I just liked Garfield and took up his eating habits, ha ha. Man.

TIPS & TRICKS magazine was my favorite magazine by far. It was videogame-based and even covered the arcade scene but left out PC games so I got that info from other places. It was mainly filled with guides, tons of awesome pictures, and a really well-made layout for individuals articles and guide. It was only $20/yr. From what I’ve learned, TIPS & TRICKS seems to be all but unknown to people; it’s one of those gems no one seems to know about. It was just a classic for sure. My subscription went from December 1998 to November 2004 when mom forgot to renew it.

Closet cleaning

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Since I’ve started a full-room cleanup, I’ve completely redone my closet, taken out t-shirts I don’t wear because they don’t fit and never did–they were too big–and started to hang clothes on the bottom-most post I never used yet. In doing that, I have this large space to use now for a closet and finally enough room for all of my clothes. I still don’t have enough room or hangars for both pants and shorts at the same time, but that summer/winter switch is normal. Now that I took down all the boxes I have space to put things like the bags I take with me on trips, my folded pants, and shoes. Tons and tons of room now! I dunno what happened, but I’ve just gotten really amazing at organizing these days. I’ve gone through phases of this through life, but really, in the last month I’ve turned around completely in how I cleanup and organize to a more usable and livable methodology.

One moment in life when I have answers

Monday, June 1st, 2009

I just never knew. This is beyond me and definitely not funny at all, but I’ll try to make fun of it if I can. The reason I’m single, I realized, is because I didn’t think of my existence as worthy of actually sharing the same love and caring as others; I actually thought I was just here to serve and nothing more. Later on, I find out that by thinking that way, people look at you that way. Frankly though, anyone who treats someone else like that is despicable. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I treated others how I’d always been treated. The reason for this posting is to explain why this way of thinking made me single. It’s really quite amazing that a small misunderstanding was the most major event to ever happen in my life.
